Prof. Koyi Koteswara Rao is a Telugu scholar, poet, critic, editor and translator, and Professor and Head of the Department of Telugu at Government City College, Hyderabad. With nearly 28 years of teaching, he earned his MA from the University of Hyderabad and his PhD from Osmania University for his study Dalit Poetry – Theme and Form. His books include Otaranna Satakam, Vishwanarudu Jashuva, Eenati Kalagnanam and Nagaswaram, and his poems have appeared in English in volumes from Oxford University Press and Critical Quest. He has written some 250 essays and reviews, contributed to Telugu Academy and Ambedkar Open University textbooks, and researched neglected Telugu poets. His honours include the Gurram Jashuva Award, the Mahakavi C. Narayana Reddy Poetry Award, the Gidugu Ramamurthy Pantulu Language Award and the Mahatma Phule National Best Teacher Award.

కోయి కోటేశ్వరరావు ప్రముఖ తెలుగు ఆచార్యులు, పరిశోధకులు, కవి, విమర్శకులు, సంపాదకులు, అనువాదకులు. ప్రస్తుతం హైదరాబాదులోని ప్రభుత్వ సిటీ కళాశాలలో తెలుగు శాఖ ఆచార్యులుగా, శాఖాధిపతిగా పనిచేస్తున్నారు. దాదాపు 28 ఏళ్ల బోధనానుభవం ఉన్న ఆయన హైదరాబాద్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుంచి ఎం.ఏ., ‘దళిత కవిత్వం – వస్తువు, రూపం’ అనే అంశంపై ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుంచి పీహెచ్‌డీ పొందారు. ‘ఓటరన్న శతకం’, ‘విశ్వనరుడు జాషువా’, ‘ఈనాటి కాలజ్ఞానం’, ‘నాగస్వరం’ ఆయన ముఖ్య రచనలు. ఆయన కవితలు ఆక్స్‌ఫర్డ్ యూనివర్సిటీ ప్రెస్, క్రిటికల్ క్వెస్ట్ ప్రచురించిన సంకలనాల్లో ఇంగ్లీషులోకి అనువాదమయ్యాయి. సుమారు 250 వ్యాసాలు, సమీక్షలు రాసిన ఆయన, తెలుగు అకాడమీ, డా. బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం పాఠ్యపుస్తకాల రూపకల్పనలో పాలుపంచుకున్నారు; విస్మృత తెలుగు కవులపై పరిశోధన చేశారు. గుర్రం జాషువా పురస్కారం, మహాకవి సి. నారాయణరెడ్డి కవితా పురస్కారం, గిడుగు రామమూర్తి పంతులు భాషా పురస్కారం, మహాత్మా ఫూలే జాతీయ ఉత్తమ ఉపాధ్యాయ పురస్కారం వంటి ఎన్నో గౌరవాలు అందుకున్నారు.
