Venu Udugula is a Telugu film writer and director known for his socially conscious storytelling and poetic visual style. Hailing from Upparapalle village in Warangal district, Telangana, he studied at Kakatiya University before venturing into cinema. His debut film Needi Naadi Oke Katha (2018) received critical acclaim for its raw realism, while his second film Virata Parvam (2022), set against the Naxalite movement, showcased his command over socio-political narratives. Deeply influenced by filmmakers like Andrei Tarkovsky and Krzysztof Kieślowski, Venu’s works explore human emotion, struggle, and idealism, marking him as one of Telugu cinema’s most thoughtful contemporary voices.
