Akkiraju Bhattiprolu

Akkiraju Bhattiprolu is a Telugu literary enthusiast and short story writer. His anthology “Moodu Beerla Tharavata” (After Three Beers) was well received by critics and readers. His stories often feature strong characters—particularly women—navigating the challenges of contemporary, post-liberalized India and the diaspora. Some works explore the post-9/11 immigrant dilemma, while others highlight the widening economic divide and persistent social stigmas.
He co-edited “Kotha Katha 2017” and “Sujanaranjani,” a souvenir for a Telugu conference in California. As part of the first generation to create and promote Telugu content online, he has been active in literary forums and digital discussions. His critical perspectives on literature, society, culture, and politics are widely read in social media, blogs, and newspapers.
Hailing from the villages of Bhadrachalam, Akkiraju later lived in the USA as a software engineer. A seasoned technocrat and entrepreneur, he has witnessed the industry’s evolution for over three decades.
