Dr. V. R. Rasani is a distinguished Telugu writer, playwright, novelist, short story writer, essayist, and critic, widely admired for his versatility and social depth. Over his prolific career, he has authored more than 160 short stories, 14 novels, numerous plays, biographies, research works, and essays. His notable works include Chikati Rajyam, Mudra, Batukata, Valasa, Swapnajevi, and Adiyodhudu, along with acclaimed story collections such as Meravani, Vishappurugu, and Mullugarra.
Rasani’s writings have been translated into Kannada, Hindi, English, Urdu, and Tamil, extending his reach beyond Telugu readers. His works have also inspired 24 Ph.D. research studies across eight universities within and outside Andhra Pradesh, reflecting his strong academic and cultural influence. Recognized for his literary excellence, he has been conferred the Andhra Pradesh Kala Ratna title and honored with the Bangaru Hamsa Award.
