Dr. Neeraja Amaravadi

Dr. Neeraja Amaravadi is a distinguished academic, writer, and scholar of Telugu literature, renowned for her contributions to Bala-Sahityam (children’s literature) as well as prose and poetry. Holding a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Hyderabad Central University (1996), along with M.A. degrees in English, Sanskrit, and Journalism, she also earned a Montessori diploma in 2000, reflecting her keen interest in child psychology.
She has authored over 300 stories and poems for readers of all ages and published three Bala-Sahityam books: Tene Chinukulu (2012), Chiru-Kanuka (2016), and Edu Rangula Jenda (2023), the latter earning her multiple awards including the Telangana Saraswatha Parishad Best Book Award (2025) and the Suravaram Pratap Reddy Keerthi Puraskaram. Her story Anju was selected by the National Book Trust for translation into 18 Indian languages.
Dr. Amaravadi also writes for Yuva Sahityam, conducts workshops for young writers, and has been recognized with numerous honors including the Lakshmi Devi Award (2022), Bala Sahithi Bhooshan, and BalaPriya.
