Balasudhakar
Balasudhakar is a celebrated Telugu poet and writer from Poram village, Vizianagaram district, North Andhra. Since his first poetry collection in 2014, he has authored eight poetry collections, a long poem, and his debut short story collection Kunnemma, published by Chaaya Publishers, Hyderabad. He also edits the trimonthly literary bulletin Champaavathi (Kalingadhra Sahitya Sanchika) and works as a high school teacher.
His poetry has reached wider audiences through translations, including Bhoomi Pedaalapai (Nadiya Hudukata) into Kannada by Ashok Agil (2023) and Laal Pankhonwale Kabootar (Selected Poems) into Hindi by Dr. Ganesh Ram (2024).
Balasudhakar’s literary contributions have earned him numerous honors, including the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar (2018) for Aaku Kadalani Chota, the Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad Yuva Puraskar (2015), Free Verse Front Award (2016), and several prestigious state and regional awards such as Kolakaluri Bhagiradhi, Penna, Gidugu Rammurthi Panthulu, and Yuva Chaitanya Puraskaram. His work blends lyrical depth with social consciousness, establishing him as a significant voice in contemporary Telugu literature.
